INTRODUCING MGB
Jazz vocalist Debra Milne and guitar maestro Steve Glendinning are long established on the north east jazz scene. Milne Glendinning Band, a trio with Michael Clark on bass, showcases their original songs, with smart lyrics, jazz infused melodic grooves, and folk, soul and rock influences. Their repertoire also includes an eclectic selection of jazz standards & jazzy covers, from artists including Madeleine Peyroux, Leonard Cohen, Norah Jones & Suzanne Vega.
Our original music is available on Bandcamp and digital platforms, and has received great reviews in regional media such as The Crack magazine & jazz blog Bebop Spoken Here. Tracks have also featured on BBC Introducing North East.
The Crack Magazine "...this local outfit's natural habitat is the back room of the world's coolest jazz cafe. Milne's voice instantly commands your attention & she is given dextrous backing by the two fellas behind her. The four tracks... are a melodic delight..."
Top jazz blog Bebop Spoken Here says
"Debra Milne has to be given her due, not just for her individual vocal style but also for her songs and lyrics some of which are worthy of GASbook recognition"
